MINUTES OF THE

TOWN OF BARNES

TOWN ROADS & RIGHT OF WAY COMMITTEE MEETING

August 10, 2010

The meeting was called to order at 2:00 PM by Chairman, Greg Martin.

Roll call was taken. Those present were committee members: Mitch McGee, Dick Webb, Greg Martin and Jerry Witt. Also attending was: Jack Mienke, Lu Peet and Bud Pease.

The agenda was read and approved. Agenda was posted in accordance with State Statutes.

Jerry made a motion to open the floor to discussion. Mitch seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Open discussion on Public Road versus Private Road, road maintenance, etc.

Discussion points from the Agenda were as follows:

Review names and mileage of roads not maintained and the criteria that is used to determine the action taken.
- Action: Committee indicated that Jerry should create list of roads.
Are non-maintained roads indicated in the five year road plan.
- Action: Not covered
Has discontinuing of non-maintained roads been considered?
- Action: Push for action by the Town Board
Revenue issues concerning non-maintained roads.
- Action: Not a concern
Road trip to inspect non-maintained roads
- Action: Not at this time

Jerry needs help to deal with property owner complaints, etc. It will be suggested to the Town Board that they deal with this issue by:

By discontinuing roads where possible
Establish road priority.

The Town Roads and Right of Way Committee will meet more often for the immediate future. Meetings will be held the week before regularly scheduled Town Board Meetings, with the first meeting to be held September 14^th.

A motion to close the floor was made and seconded. Motion carried.

A motion to adjourn was made by Dick and seconded by Jerry. Motion Carried.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:35 pm.
