Dave Pease gave a report on the Bayfield County Forest Plan meeting that was held on January 19, 2005 at Barnes. The county’s Forestry Department is revising and updating the 1996-2005 version of the Forest Plan for the next 10-15 year period-2006-2015. Some concerns from the audience were: Road access to the logging industry; trail access by ATV and snowmobiles; usage by dog sledders. The county forests are currently being harvested at the rate of 60%. That may increase to 70%.

The remaining time was spent reviewing the January Draft of the Housing Element. Additions and corrections were made. Patrick Beilfuss explained the Conservation Subdivision Design Concept and handed out a sample Conservation Subdivision Ordinance.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday February 9, 2005 at the Barnes Town Hall at 6:30PM.

Motion was made to adjourn the meeting by Russ Carter, seconded by Ron Pearson. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:35PM.
