MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING

Of Thursday June 2, 2005

Chairman Collyard called the meeting to order at 5:06PM. The Pledge of Allegiance was said. Present were Board Members Chris Webb, Jack Meinke, Dixie Chermack, Dick Collyard and Donna Porter. The Clerk-Treasurer, Elaine Brustad was also present. Members from the EWM Committee present were: Dave Thorson, and Gerald Gustofson, along with Coordinator John Kudlas. The Town Board met in open session with 3 members of the Eurasian Water Milfoil Committee to discuss their recommendations for the Eurasian Water Milfoil Project Surveyor Positions.

Motion(Porter/Webb) to adjourn to closed session.Roll call vote taken. Meinke-yes, Webb-yes, Porter-yes, Chermack-yes, Collyard-yes.Motion Carried.

MINUTES OF THE CLOSED SESSION

Of June 2, 2005

Collyard called the closed session to order at 5:10PM. All the above were present in the closed session. Dave Thorson explained the process in which the committee interviewed and selected candidates they felt would be appropriate for the EWM Surveyor’s position. They gave the Board their two selections.

The Board then dismissed the members of the EWM Committee and went over the applicants for the Town Road and Maintenance Foreman Position.

Chairman Collyard also discussed the mowing of the Cemetary and that since he had no one to

do the mowing before Memorial Day he had asked a sub-contractor to do it the one time.

Only the issues dealing with State Statutes 19.85 (b) and (c) for the purposes of considering employment were discussed. There were no decisions made in closed session.

Motion(Chermack/Porter) to adjourn the Closed Session and return to the adjourned open session. Motion Carried. Closed Session was adjourned at 6:40PM.

MINUTES OF THE RECONVENED OPEN SESSION

OF JUNE 2, 2005

Chairman Collyard called the regular reconvened session to order at 6:42PM. Two candidates were approved for the EWM Surveyors Position. They are Darienne McNamara and Keith Groehler. Motion (Meinke/Porter) to accept the candidates as selected. Roll call vote taken: Chermack-yes, Porter-yes, Webb-yes, Meinke-yes, Collyard-yes. Motion carried. Seven applicants were selected for the interview process for the Town Road and Maintenance Foreman Position which will begin Monday June 6^th and Tuesday, June 7^th. The bill for the mowing of the Cemetary was discussed. Motion (Collyard/Porter) to pay two subcontractors for mowing of the Cemetary prior to Memorial Day a total of $50.00. Roll call vote taken: Collyard-yes, Porter-yes, Chermack-abstain, Webb-yes, Meinke-yes. Motion carried.

There was no other business discussed. Motion(Meinke/Chermack) to adjourn the Special Meeting of June 2, 2005. Motion carried.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:55PM.
