Chairman Dick Collyard called the meeting to order at 6:30PM. The Pledge of Allegiance was said. Collyard read a letter from the Attorney Amended Agenda as follows:

                      Closed Session: The Town Board of the Town of Barnes will meet in regular session to go into closed session pursuant to State Statute 19.85 (b) and (c) for the purposes of discipline, considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation of data of any employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. The Board will then reconvene to the regular session.                                 

All Department Heads are required to be at the Regular Board Meetings

          All Department Heads must submit a signed written report to the clerk if they will be unable to be at the meeting.

Motion(Webb/Chermack) to approve the Amended Agenda for May 17, 2005 with change of striking the Zoning Issue. Motion carried.

The Clerk/Treasurer read the Clerk Correspondence.  There was a letter from Jason Laumann on the meeting date for the Barnes-Drummond Community Wildfire Protection Planning Committee.  The date was changed to June 9th at 7:00PM in the Barnes Town Hall. A letter from the Wisconsin DOR stating the Town’s exempt computer state aid for 2005 will be $20.00. There was 9 Notices to Cut on property owned by Plum Creek, and 1 Notice to Cut on property owned by Viola Jetran. Clerk then read a letter from Gene Miller regarding the current website and its problems. He was willing to design a new website which would be very easy to update and add items to.

The Board asked to have a special meeting set up early next week to see the website up and running alongside the current one to view how changes are made to each.

 

Department Head Reports

            Cemetary Committee-Bud Pease  - A monument went in this week, there will be a burial in June on the Williams lot, the broken window pane on the bulletin board has been replaced.

             Ambulance Department – Del Jerome – The “Be Somebody” will be this weekend starting Friday at 4:00PM. If anyone wants to stop by please do.

              Fire Department-Tom Renz – Tom was not present and didn’t leave a report for the Clerk to read.

              Constable-Mike O’Keefe –

 

               Highway Garage-Dick Collyard- Chairman Collyard gave the Highway report. Smart road and River Roads have been done. The holes on a number of roads have been patched with blacktop.  The gas pump card holder has been repaired.
