SPOTLIGHT

The Spring Election is April 4th- Doug Stearly and Christine Webb are candidates for the Chairperson.  Donna Porter is a candidate for a Board Supervisor position.  There are also three registered write-in candidates for a Board Supervisor position.

The Vatten Paddler is July 8, 2017.  This will be the third year of the Canoe/Kayak Race.  The Tourism Committee is looking for someone to take over the Race Coordinator duties or two people could be co-coordinators.  The position will pay $2,000.00/year.  This is a very challenging and rewarding position.  If interested, please contact Tom Krob.  [email protected].

OPEN BOOK DATE SET - Wednesday, April 26th from 5-7pm in the Town Hall.  The Board of Review is scheduled for Saturday, May 20th at 8am in the Town Hall.

The theme for this year's 4th of July parade is "Walk the Plank".  Contact Melissa Scully at 218-590-0456 for more information.

~~Spring Load Restrictions

Pursuant to Section 348.16, Wisconsin Statutes, the Bayfield County Highway Department will impose spring breakup road restrictions beginning
NOON - MONDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2017

All county Road restrictions (lettered roads) shall be posted for 6 Tons maximum per single axle and 10 Ton maximum per tandem axle group.  All non-divisible overweight permits will be suspended at this time.

Exception to the posting: CTH F from USH 63 westerly 1 mile; and CTH J north fromSTH 13 for 1.2 miles.

The Town of Barnes has been awarded a DNR grant for Tomahawk Park.  The grant will be used to widen and add additional ski trails to include skate skiing, warming and changing building, additional hiking/biking trails, nature trails, fishing pier, etc.  If you have any ideas for improving the park please email Chairperson Tom Krob at [email protected].
