SPOTLIGHT

OPEN BOOK, your opportunity to meet with the assessor, will be Tuesday, April 14th from 2-4pm in the Town Hall.  The Board of Review will be on Wed. May 6th, from 2-4pm.

Census Workers are needed!  You can apply online at www.2020census.gov/jobs or call 1-855-JOB-2020.  The pay is $19/hr (up to 20 hours per week) and will start in April and continue thru the summer.

2020 WILL BE A BUSY ELECTION YEAR with 5 elections - Feb 18 is the Spring Primary, April 7 is the Spring Election and Presidential Preference, May 12 is the Special Election for Congressional District 7 seat vacated by Sean Duffy, August 11 is the Partisan Primary and November 3 is the General Election. You can register to vote and see sample ballots online at www.myvote.wi.gov

Tom Emerson and Seana Frint's Town Board terms end in April of 2020.  Supervisor Emerson has filed a Declaration of Non-Candidacy and Seana Frint is running for re-election.  Eric Neff is running for Board Supervisor.

WINTER HOURS NOW IN EFFECT AT THE TRANSFER SITE.  It will be open WEDNESDAYS AND SUNDAYS8am-2pm.  THE BRUSH PIT WILL ONLY BE OPEN WHEN THE TRANSFER SITE IS OPEN.

THE NEW EMERGENCY SERVICES BUILDING IS NOW COMPLETE!  All equipment is now at the new building.  See pictures here.

Barnes Emergency Services sent out letters to property owners in an effort to raise funds for our new Emergency Services Building and to purchase an extractor washing machine to remove cancer toxins from their gear.  To date, over $65,000 has been donated!  The fund raising goal is $125,000.   The Town has a brokerage account so we accept stock donations!  Contact the clerk for more information.

Tracy Pooler is the Bayfield County Ass't Zoning Administrator -contact him at 715-373-6138 for Planning and Zoning questions.  He has office hours in Barnes on Tuesdays from 10-12pm.
